she switched off the light and opened the apartment door
the shapes inside backlit by the hallway
she turned back
her softly glowing form in the midst of the winter night
his face streaked with a line of gold though the darkness
he smiled in soft shadows
her retreating back the only thing left in his mind
before the front door closed
because some dreams

and willingly we go
